Music Video Inspiration
This music video by G-Frsh has inspired us to take shots from a vide variety of angles, the camera movement and balance in this music video is exactly what we want, with the video colour being that slight bit dark, this gives that edge and depth to the video and also adds that dark gloomy effect, that's what we need in some particular scenes for our soap trailer, again the handheld shots in this video are similar to the handheld shots to our soap trailer, the different perspectives and angles that have been shot have made us experiment with our shots, the techniques that have been used to shoot this music video are somewhat similar to ours, the beat to this music video is edited with the shots having that pattern, we want this for our soap trailer as it will create an impact on the audience seeing something different. The lyrics that G-Frsh has used reflect on our main characters life "Kareem" and his anti social mates, being "cocky" and "arrogant", these lyrics are rather metaphorical and have more than one meaning for people to understand it, quite clever, again the metaphoric use of these lyrics reflect on our character Kareem as he has more than one side to him so do the lyrics. This music video is very powerful and projects a powerful impact on the audience, this is what we want for our soap trailer, not to be a music video but rather have that impact on the audience.

ReplyDelete• Organise blog posts so they follow a chronological order- also make sure that you write in one type of font and that all the writing is aligned to the left, rather than centre, as it looks better.
• Must have a completed storyboard animatic – without this you can’t get above an E!
• Your trailer synopsis needs a little more specific detail, offering a full account of what we are going to see and how we are going to see it, commenting on style, pace, music, anything distinctive etc, as well as justifying the storylines that you will be highlighting and commenting on how are these reflective of your soap overall?
• In your synopsis of your trailer, answer the following: What do you want the content & style to be like? How do you want to represent your soap in the trailer? What kind of effect on the audience do you hope to achieve?
• Have a summarising paragraph for your questionnaire results, saying what you have found out and how this information will help the construction of your soap trailer.
• Add images (?) to Brand Identity post, to get a clearer idea of what your brand identity is.
• Must be more explicit when looking at conventions used in soap trailers, posters & magazines. Make sure you add at least a paragraph that focuses on summarising how the trailer you are analysing follows/subverts common conventions. (such as use of music, pace, single or multiple narratives, linear or non-linear structure, hyper-dramatised, surreal or self-parody in terms of style -eg Eastenders Roxy & Peggy ones).
• You need to embed a link to the one of the Holyoaks trailers and add in an image for Choice magazine front cover.
• Explain your magazine draft in depth, as you have done with your poster draft.
• Add completed channel ident as done on the computer.
• More audience feedback needed on: rough cut, poster & magazine drafts.
• Upload rough cut once completed and add in audiences’ responses to this and what you will add/change in light of these responses.
• Also add in your new tracks. Again with reasons why you want to use these.
• It might also be worth adding some points in on the ‘stop image’ motif that we talked about and try and find an example of this to embed from Hustle or wherever.
• Keep adding in the ‘diary’ of events, including editing etc that you’re working on now.
• Keep up the hard work- this is the best blog so far!
